Supportive
Colleague Award
Winner: Rebecca Burton (Network Homes)
Runner-up: Humphrey
Thompson (Southern Housing)
Rebecca is described by her colleagues as being
unwavering in their commitment to inclusive, non-tokenistic, genuine racial
equality. She is not afraid to challenge at all levels to achieve this and
ensure that racial equality remains at the forefront of people’s minds.
As the co-founder of their organisation’s racial
equality colleague group, Rebecca consistently support people to speak up about
what matters to them. Her ‘magical’ skills to make time to educate and engage
people on racial equality alongside her day job, leading on many successful
awareness campaigns, made them stand out to the judges.
Rebecca’s ambition is admirable and infectious, and
she pays it forward by mentoring several colleagues and supporting them to
progress in their careers.
